Spring Fever

We planted our first herb garden! Very excited! We also planted some of the leftover wedding favor seeds. We planted cilantro, basil, sage, lavender and mint. We also had bought bluebonnet seeds at the Alamo on our honeymoon and planted those today as well. Hopefully they will all bloom beautifully!!

Spring Snow Storm...Only in Oklahoma!!

Crazy Oklahoma weather! This weekend we were in a blizzard warning. We wanted to share with you some of the pictures from the freak storm. One news weatherman reported it was record accumulations! Our area got over a foot of snow and ice! We took advantage of staying inside watching movies and basketball! Luckily we were not part of the hundreds that lost power so we kept warm inside! This week it is back to high temperatures and spring like weather! Never know what to expect here in Oklahoma!!

God Grew tired of Us....

Just watched a fascinating documentary, entitled God Grew tired of Us, about the Lost Boys of Sudan and their incredible journey. This movie really puts the situation in Sudan into perspective and is really touching. We encourage everyone to try to see this film and suggest it to others you know. We feel the more people that see this movie the more help can be directed to change the situation. We have many problems of our own here in America but none of them are like what is going on over there. We were inspired after watching this film and perhaps you will be as well. Then if you liked the film and wanted to read more about the situation you can go to the website savedarfur.org to get more information. Other than that we have just been relaxing and watching March Madness...Gina's bracket isn't doing too well but she stayed loyal to her home state of Texas and picked both Texas teams to go all the way...Hope everyone is doing well!

March of Dimes

I met with the Division Director Stephanie Soucek for guidance on forming a team for the March of Dimes. We participated in the event last year, but our team captain has moved! (Miss you so much Chanie) so trying to still get everyone to do it this year! Stephanie gave us lots of great ideas and inspiration for fundraising. We are having our team through the office of Healthy Smiles again. If anyone would like to participate in the event with us you are more than welcome to walk with our team! Just let me know and I can sign you up! The walk is on Saturday, April 25th at 10:00am. We have promotional things going on at the office as well! I emailed everyone the link to our fundraising website, too!

Back home with the houndies...

Honeymoon is over and we are back to work! This weekend we enjoyed being home and spending time with the hounds!! We sure did miss them and wish they could have made the Texas trip with us! They were absolute maniacs once we got home and could not control themselves! ( We did not help the situation because I am sure we were just as excited to see them!) It is hard to believe Cassie will be turning 4 yrs old and Josephine and Maximus will be 3 yrs old in just a few months!! Wow, time flies!! Even though we would not make Cesar the Dog Whisperer very proud with our dog training skills they are most certainly getting better as they get older! Yes they are very spoiled but we love it! The pictures above show just how tame and trained they are...ha! In order of appearance: Cassie, Maximus and Josephine.
